Ever since I started creating this dream of mine- the logo, the website, the content- I have strived for one thing… perfection. I would re-write and re-work images and posts constantly- until it was as close to perfect as I could get it. What I am learning along the way is that nothing is perfect. Everything has room for improvement, and even your best work provides you with some type of growth opportunity/ key takeaway that you can utilize as you move forward.
So my new number one goal is progress- especially in blogging. Being a merchant and mentor fortunately comes much easier to me. Not because I am the best there is- but because it’s my career, my passion, and I know what I am doing. Taking on a blog and putting yourself out there via social media is all new to me, and it’s not nearly as easy as I thought it would be. But when I look at Instagram (for instance) I can see there is progress being made- from where I started to where I am today. I still have a long way to go, but by not giving up and continuing to push myself I am at least showcasing that drive and determination that’s a huge part of who I am. And I am guessing it’s a huge part of you as well.
My advice for today is to strive for progress. Don’t aim for perfection- it’s overrated and not worth the craziness it brings you or I. Stay true to who you are and the mission you are on- whether it’s personal or career related- and make your way to the finish line one step at a time. Know that you have someone in your corner cheering you on and sending you nothing but encouragement. Here’s to all of us stepping out of our comfort zone…
